* 2024-2025 Employee Parking Permits Available Beginning August 5

How do I register for a Parking Permit?

You can register for your Parking Permit through the UE Self-Service portal https://selfservice.evansville.edu using your UE username and password. The Parking Permits link is under “UE Forms.” Click on the menu icon (upper left hand corner) > UE Forms > Employee > Parking Permits. If you need assistance with accessing self-service, please contact OTS help desk at (812) 488-2077.

How much does a Parking Permit cost and how do I pay for it?

Employee Parking Permits are $50 for the academic year.  Discounts for UE license plates are only valid if the plate is active at the time of permit registration. There are no discounts or refunds once the permit is assigned. The discounted fee for employees who have UE license plates is $25 for the academic year.

Payment options include:

  • quick and easy on-line payroll deduction of $10 installments over five pay periods

  • cash/check/credit card at the cashier area in Student Financial Services, Olmsted 105.

What is the process for applying and paying for a Parking Permit?

Employees will go to the appropriate link on UE Self-Service (see instructions above) and follow the processes for registering a vehicle. Once you have registered your vehicle and enrolled for payroll deduction, stop by the cashier area in Student Financial Services and pick up your Parking Permit. That’s all there is to it!

What if I don’t want to do payroll deduction?

If you opt to pay in full at Student Financial Services, you will still need to register your vehicle on self-service. Then you will need to print out the registration confirmation sheet and take it to the cashier area in Student Financial Services. The cashier will take your payment, mark your confirmation sheet as paid, and issue your permit.

What if I am a President’s Club member or have a UE license plate - does that make a difference?

President’s Club members are asked to register their vehicles on-line simply for the purposes of being able to provide timely information in the event of an emergency (ie. Someone has damaged your vehicle and we need to notify you). President’s Club stickers will be distributed via the Office of Development upon confirmation of the donation.

Where do I pick up my Permit?

Employee Parking Permits will be distributed at Student Financial Services. We strongly encourage all employees to apply and pick up their Parking Permits Monday, August 5 thru Wednesday, August 21, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. to avoid the rush of the distribution of Student Parking Permits.

Rachel Roscoe

My name is Rachel Roscoe, and I have worked at UE for the past two years as the Youth Programs and Special Events Coordinator. In this role, I handled all external events held on campus, including but not limited to weddings, summer camps, summer intern housing, Fehn House rentals, and more. I also assisted with all UE summer camps and our after-school youth program, UE Explorers. Before working at UE, I attended DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. I was a part of the Honor Scholar Program and majored in English Literature, and I am a member of Alpha Phi (Gamma Chapter).

I am excited to begin this new position as the Assistant Director for Student Engagement. With my previous role being predominately external facing, I look forward to working with UE students, assisting with events and activities, and helping to shape the student culture and experience on UE’s campus. I hope to maintain the traditions that are already established on UE’s campus, while also working to cultivate and grow new ones. I believe that my experience with Greek Life will assist with this transition, although I am aware that there is a lot that I need to learn in order to help each of you in the best way possible!

* New UE Policy Site Repository

The University is pleased to share a new centralized document storage location for all institutional policies. The new site, located at https://policies.evansville.edu, will serve as a comprehensive repository for all university policies, making it easier for everyone to access and reference important information. Policies can be located by office, constituency, and alphabetically, simplifying the search process. Users can also utilize keyword searching to quickly find specific policies or topics.

However, for this new repository to be successful, we need your help to populate it. We are calling on representatives from every area and department on campus to upload their policies to the site.

Please note that while we strive to include all university policies on the website, some policies may be documented in the Faculty Manual or Student Handbook rather than on the site itself.

All policies must be in PDF format and must be ADA Accessible to ensure they are usable by everyone in our community. Instructions for making policies ADA-compliant and uploading them are attached to this message.

We appreciate your cooperation in this effort to centralize and streamline our university policies. If you have any questions or need assistance with uploading your policies, please don't hesitate to reach out to Help@evansville.edu.

* UE Men's Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule

Looking to build on the momentum from a trip to the CBI in 2024, the University of Evansville men’s basketball team has put together a challenging non-conference slate to open the 2024-25 campaign.

“We’re really excited about our non-conference schedule for several reasons.

For off, this year our schedule is filled with quality opponents from around our region,” UE Head Men’s Basketball Coach David Ragland said.  “Secondly, our non-conference schedule is as competitive of a schedule our program has seen in a very long time.  Lastly, we have 7 home contest which includes our exhibition as well as our home-coming game. Our goal is to be prepare for conference play and we achieved that with the quality opponents we have lined up.”

As the excitement for the upcoming season is building, season tickets are now on sale.  Multiple price points are available to fit any budget and a new “Family Pack” is set to be unveiled later this week.  For more information and to purchase your seasons tickets, call Logan Belz at 812-488-2623.

An exhibition game against Tiffin will take place on October 26.  This will be a special match-up for Purple Aces assistant coach D.J. Balentine as his brother – Desmond – is entering his first season as the head coach of Tiffin.  Desmond was an assistant coach for the Dragons over the previous two seasons.

Regular season play gets underway on November 5 with a huge road game at North Texas.  The Mean Green have been one of the top mid-major programs in the nation over the past few seasons, making the NIT in each of the last three seasons while earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament in 2021.  Highlighting the recent success was a 31-7 mark in 2022-23 as the Mean Green were the NIT Champions.  This will be the second meeting between the programs with the first taking place at Roberts Stadium in 1995 (58-54 UE win).

Saturday, Nov. 9 will be homecoming as the Purple Aces welcome Brescia to the Ford Center.  Four days later, UE is back on the road for its 4th-ever meeting against Middle Tennessee State.  The Blue Raiders won 14 games last season with their last postseason berth coming in the 2022 CBI where MTSU won 26 games.  The squads last met in the 2016 Challenge in Music City, which was played in Nashville, Tenn.

On the 16th, Evansville welcomes Radford in the second meeting between the programs.  UE was triumphant in a 1996 home meeting.  The Highlanders won 16 games a season ago after going 21-15 the year prior on their way to a spot in the CBI.   Another high-profile game is on tap when the Aces travel to Ohio State on Nov. 19.  The Buckeyes went 22-14 last year and were invited to the NIT.  Their last NCAA Tournament appearance came in 2022.  This is the 5th meeting between UE and OSU and first since 1976.

Following a busy start to the season, UE will play its ensuing four non-conference games at the Ford Center.  One Missouri Valley Conference road game is set to be played during that period.  The stretch opens on the 22nd when UE faces Green Bay.  Led by first-year head coach Doug Gottlieb, the Phoenix won 18 games last year.  Evansville is 7-2 against the Phoenix with the last contest coming in 2019.  On the 24th, the Aces play host to Campbell.  The Fighting Camels picked up 14 victories in 2023-24.  The teams met up in 2022 with UE earning a 72-66 victory.

Western Kentucky makes the trip to Evansville for a December 7 game.  The reigning Conference USA Tournament Champions were 22-12 last seasons and are set to meet up against the Aces for the 60th time overall in the first match-up since 2009.  On Dec. 12, the Aces play host to Chattanooga.  The Mocs won 21 games last year but it was the Aces who were victorious last November, erasing a 20-point deficit to pick up an 85-77 overtime win in McKenzie Arena.

Two road games complete the non-conference schedule beginning on Dec. 18 when UE returns to Texas to face UT-Arlington.  The Mavericks have been a solid program in recent years and posted a 20-14 mark last season.  This will be the second meeting between the squads.  On the 21st, the Aces head to Muncie, Ind. to take on Ball State.  The Cardinals earned 15 victories a season ago.  Last November, Evansville was victorious by a 74-50 margin at the Ford Center.
