Info You Should Know

* Order Textbooks Online and Skip the Lines

Did you know you can order your textbooks online ahead of time and skip the long in-store lines? Simply visit the bookstore online at evansville.bncollege.com, click on the "Textbook" header, select your courses from the dropdown menus, and the website will pull a personalized list of Required and Recommended titles!

Now if you plan on renting any books, you will need to put in a credit card to secure the rental BUT you can pay a different way! Are you an Athlete? On VA benefits? Or just need to use your Book Loan before your Financial Aid is distributed? You can do that AND rent! When it comes time to check out, make sure you follow the directions, putting in your credit card AND selecting the secondary form of payment as "Student Account". When the order comes through, the appropriate account will be charged (nothing will be charged to the credit card unless you don't bring them back at the end of the semester).

Not interested in renting? Then you don't need to put in a credit card at all if you're using a different form of payment! Have a Barnes and Noble giftcard? You can use that with us too! The only form of payment we do not accept are checks.

Please allow up to 72 hours for web order processing during the first 2 weeks of class. You will receive 2 emails: one confirming the order, the other to let you know what it is ready to pickup/has been shipped. Please wait for that second email before coming in to pick up your order. If you have decided to have your books shipped, the tracking number will be on that email.

Of course, if you don't feel comfortable ordering online, you're more than welcome to bring your schedule into the store and we will pull your books at our back counter and you can pay at the register. Remember, if you're renting, you need to have a credit card to secure the rentals, even if you're using a different form of payment.

Athletics

* Spencer Wagner Named DI All-America Scholar

For the second time in his career at the University of Evansville, golfer Spencer Wagner was recognized as a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar in an announcement by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate’s Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA.

In addition, they must participate in 40-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

“I could not be more proud of this accomplishment for Spencer,” UE head golf coach John Andrews exclaimed.  “His dedication in the classroom and his fine play this last year earned him this great honor.”

Wagner enjoyed another strong season for the Purple Aces, pacing the men with a 75.38 stroke average in the spring of 2021.  In each of UE’s opening four tournaments, Wagner finished in the top 17.  His best finish came at the Murray State Invitational where he earned a 10th place finish while shooting a 70 in the third round for his lowest score of the season.

In the classroom, Wagner excelled, recording a cumulative GPA of 3.579.  The Management major was also an All-American Scholar in 2020.

* Men's Basketball to Play in 2021 Gulf Coast Showcase

A trip to Southwest Florida will be on tap for the University of Evansville men’s basketball team in November when the Purple Aces make their second appearance in the Gulf Coast Showcase.

Set to take place from Nov. 22-24, the tournament will be held at Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida. Fan travel information, including preferred hotel rates at the official tournament resorts, and ticket information can be found at the official event website – www.gulfcoastshowcase.com and on social media at @GCShowcase.

Tournament play for UE opens at 11 a.m. on the 22nd versus Rice University. This will be just the second-ever meeting between the programs and first since the 1997 San Juan Shootout. The Owls took that game by a final of 59-54 in Puerto Rico. In the second game of the event, Evansville will face either Vermont or Oakland. The Aces have not faced either squad in its history. Vermont does have ties to Evansville as senior guard Robin Duncan is a native of Evansville and graduated from Harrison High School.

In its third and final game of the event on Nov. 24, the Aces will be paired against either Akron, Fordham, Appalachian State or Delaware.

This will be the second time the Aces have participated in the Gulf Coast Showcase. In 2014, Evansville earned victories over Fresno State and San Francisco while falling to eventual tournament champion Green Bay in the second game of the tournament.

Evansville’s full non-conference schedule is being finalized and will be released upon completion.
