Office of Accounting & Audit Payroll Policy
|
|
To best serve the needs of hourly employees at the University, the Accounting and Audit Office is updating the Payroll Policy. To ensure accurate hours are paid, we ask that each hourly employee complete a timecard at the end of each pay period.
Supervisors are asked to ensure their direct reports submit a timecard and then approve the time. If a supervisor has knowledge that an employee had hours worked during a pay period and the employee does not submit their time, they are required to notify Payroll by the pay period deadline to ensure employees are paid accurately. Supervisors have the ability to enter time in Self Service for any direct reports who did not complete their timecard.
Time should be submitted no later than 10:00 am on Monday following the end of the pay period. Supervisors should approve time by noon on Monday following the pay period end date. Instructions for entering time and approving time are available on the Accounting and Audit department page on the MY UE portal.
Any payroll questions can be directed to payroll@evansville.edu. |

New UE Policy Site Repository
|
|
The University is pleased to share a new centralized document storage location for all institutional policies. The new site, located at https://policies.evansville.edu, will serve as a comprehensive repository for all university policies, making it easier for everyone to access and reference important information. Policies can be located by office, constituency, and alphabetically, simplifying the search process. Users can also utilize keyword searching to quickly find specific policies or topics.
However, for this new repository to be successful, we need your help to populate it. We are calling on representatives from every area and department on campus to upload their policies to the site.
Please note that while we strive to include all university policies on the website, some policies may be documented in the Faculty Manual or Student Handbook rather than on the site itself.
All policies must be in PDF format and must be ADA Accessible to ensure they are usable by everyone in our community. Instructions for making policies ADA-compliant and uploading them are attached to this message.
We appreciate your cooperation in this effort to centralize and streamline our university policies. If you have any questions or need assistance with uploading your policies, please don't hesitate to reach out to Help@evansville.edu.

Professor Kimberling coauthors article in new geometry journal

Early this year, Dr. Kimberling was invited to contribute the first article in a new journal. The name of the new journal is simply Geometry. At the time of invitation, Dr. Kimberling was researching certain recently discovered geometric transformations, which he and his colleague, Peter J. C. Moses, subsequently studied in depth. The result was published in July and is indeed the first article in the first volume of Geometry. You can view the article, entitled "Unary Operations on Barycentric Coordinates in the Plane of a Triangle": First Article. The publisher, MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute), is the world's largest publisher of online academic journals—more than 433 journals covering a remarkable range of subjects. Diaz Barragan named first MVC Offensive Player of the Week
|
|
For the fourth time in his collegiate career, senior forward Nacho Diaz Barragan captured Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.
In the first week of the 2024 season, the forward from Almeria, Spain exploded for three goals in two games. After missing the second half of the 2023 season with a meniscus injury, Diaz Barragan returned to the pitch in fine form against Bellarmine and Memphis. He scored the game-winning goal for the Aces against Bellarmine in the 71st minute as junior defender Nacho Diaz-Caneja’s (Coruna Spain / Oregon State) cross near the left sideline found Diaz Barragan’s head near the back post for the go-ahead goal.
Diaz Barragan also recorded his first brace of the season on Sunday evening in Memphis. Against the Tigers, the forward scored two straight goals in the 62nd and 73rd minutes. Diaz Barragan found his way around the Tigers goalkeeper after an initial blocked shot in the 62nd minute for his first unassisted goal of the season.
Just 11 minutes later Diaz Barragan scored his third goal of the season as fifth-year forward Kai Phillip took a free kick from the right line of the penalty area. Phillip’s free kick found Diaz Barragan just past the penalty arc where he buried the cross with his right foot into the bottom right corner of the net.
With three goals and six points in two games, Diaz Barragan leads the MVC in goals per game (1.50) and total goals while being second in points per game (3.00), total points, and shot accuracy (83.3%). Along with leading the MVC, Diaz Barragan is fourth in the nation in total goals, 11th in shots on goal per game (2.50), and 17th in points per game (2.50).
This is the fourth time Diaz Barragan has been named the MVC Offensive Player of the Week and his first since 2022. He was formerly named MVC Player of the Week on August 30th, 2022; September 20th, 2022; and October 25th, 2022. |

The University of Evansville cross country team has released its 2024 schedule highlighted by one home meet and two returning meets.
"This year's schedule will keep a sense of familiarity with many opportunities to face strong competition ahead of the conference championship,” says Head Coach Dylan Anderson. “We are also thrilled to be hosting at Angel Mounds again alongside the Evansville Sports Commission and USI. The roster this year is very young and talented, so I am excited for them to dive right in and to see what we can accomplish this season."
The Purple Aces will begin their cross country season at the end of the month at Eastern Illinois on Friday, August 30th. It will be the first time UE returns to Charleston in six years for a cross country meet.
Three weeks later Evansville will return to action at the John McNichols Invite, hosted by Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) member Indiana State on Saturday, September 21st. It will be the fourth straight year that the Aces will run the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Invite.
UE then returns to another familiar meet on Saturday, October 5th at the Live in Lou Classic. Hosted by Louisville, Live in Lou is one of the largest cross country meets in the United States. The 2024 meet will be Evansville’s fourth straight appearance running at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
The Aces will host their only home meet of the season on Friday, October 18th at Angel Mounds. This season will be the second to last at Angel Mounds Cross Country course for the Aces as they host the Angel Mounds Invitational.
UE will then attend its furthest meet of the season at the MVC Cross Country Championships in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Hosted by Northern Iowa, Evansville will run at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course for the team’s final conference action on Friday, November 1st.
The Aces then wrap up the season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship in Akron, Ohio. Postseason action for UE will be hosted by the Mid-American Conference on Friday, November 15th.
UE returns most of its men’s team from 2023, including top distance runner Samuel Lea (Worchester, England.) Lea finished the 2023 season with a Top 15 program finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wisc. Lea ran a 32-minute 10K for the 12th fastest finish in Evansville history. The Aces only return two of their 2023 women’s runners in area student-athletes Kyndall Anthis (Patoka, Ind. / Princeton Community HS) and Avery Stephens (Newburgh, Ind. / Castle HS).
