Upcoming Events

* Parking Permits for 2012-2013 Now on Sale!

The 2012-2013 parking permits are available for purchase. They will not be available on Monday, August 6 or Tuesday, August 7 due to Securities In-Service. They will be sold between 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The price is $50 for the academic year, employees will once more be able to use payroll deduction. 
 

 
* TIAA-CREF Counseling

The TIAA CREF representative will be on the UE campus on Wednesday, August 15 for individual counseling sessions.  To schedule an appointment, call TIAA CREF at 1-800-732-8353 or 317-706-6200.   The sessions are held in the Clifford Rare Books Room of the University Libraries (Room 158).  If you have any questions, call Carol McCraney at extension 2943.

* Who Am I?: Olympic Athletes Display Contest Winner Announced!

Congratulations to Randy Abbott, Head Reference Librarian at UE Libraries, who correctly guessed each Olympians’ upside down portrait and whose name was drawn on Friday, July 27 for an Orange Leaf gift card.

To see the correct names of each Olympian athlete, visit the libraries where the portraits are still on display for a short period of time.

The last installment of this display series will coincide with the commencement of Fall Semester 2012.  Stay tuned!

* Evansville Men's Golf Earns GCAA Honor

For the second-straight season and the third time in the last four campaigns, the University of Evansville men’s golf team was honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America for its academic performance.The Aces, who put forth great performances both on the course and in the classroom, were named an All-Academic Team by the GCAA for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Just 79 teams at the Division I-A level received the award, including 11 who garnered President’s Special Recognition for achieving GPA’s exceeding 3.5.

Evansville fell just short of the 3.5 mark, compiling a cumulative team GPA of 3.416.  Quinn Vilneff posted the top mark on the squad, accumulating a 3.916 in his first academic year at UE.  Just behind him was Sam Cobb, who finished the year with a 3.824.  Every player who saw competitive time on the course registered a mark above a 3.0.

DePaul (Division I), Post (Division II), Manhattanville (Division III), Bethel College (Kan.) (NAIA), Dodge City CC (NJCAA DI) and South Mountain CC (NJCAA DII) have been named Academic National Champions for their respective division announced the GCAA. DePaul posted the highest overall team GPA for all divisions with a 3.69.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
