Info You Should Know

* Evansville Teachers Credit Union ATM

The Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union now has an ATM machine available for all employees and students on the first floor of the William L. Ridgway University Center.  The ATM is located in the hallway by the UE Bookstore entrance.

 

Congratulations

* Jennie Ebeling

Congratulations to Jennie Ebeling, associate professor of archaeology and chair of the Department of Archaeology and Art History, on receiving a four-month post-doctoral research fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Dr. Ebeling will spend the Fall 2012 semester at the American Center of Oriental Research in Amman, Jordan, researching “Bread Culture in Jordan: A Study of Women’s Changing Roles in Bread Production in the 21st Century.” In addition to conducting ethnographic and ethnoarchaeological research on traditional bread baking techniques, she will produce a video on bread culture in Jordan with a local filmmaker. Dr. Ebeling specializes in ancient food technology in the Middle East.

Athletics

* Season Tickets Now on Sale for Men's and Women's Soccer

The 2012 fall season is right around the corner and the University of Evansville Athletic Department has started ticket sales for its men’s and women’s soccer teams. Full season ticket packages are available starting at only $30. 

The men’s team is set to play 11 home games beginning with an exhibition contest against Indianapolis on August 15th.  The regular-season opener will take place on August 24 against Lipscomb.

Other highlights include the Prorehab Aces Classic set for September 7-9 along with MVC contests against SIU Edwardsville, Central Arkansas and the season finale against Creighton on November 3.

Men’s packages are just $35 for youths (age 17 and under) and senior citizens 65 and over while adult packages are just $50.  Purple Aces Family Packs are also available for $120.  Fans who purchase family packs receive 40 vouchers good for any UE home soccer match.

On August 8th, the women’s squad will play its first of two exhibition matches, opening up with Austin Peay before squaring off against Morehead State three days later.  Six regular-season games will be played, beginning with the home opener against SLU on Aug. 24.

Home MVC games include Illinois State, Northern Iowa and the home finale against Indiana State on October 17. 

Season packages for the women began at just $30 for youths (age 17 and under) and senior citizens 65 and over.  Adult season tickets are just $45 while Family Packs are available for $120.
