* Make Your Vote Count

UE will hold classes on election day, November 3.

Absentee Ballot:

You MUST vote in the county where you are registered. If you will not be able to vote in person, remember to request an absentee ballot! You must make a request for an absentee ballot for every election.

Indiana residents can pick up an absentee ballot request form from Karyssa Vasquez in her office at the Ridgeway Center on second floor. All US residents can obtain an absentee ballot request form at www.vote.org. Absentee ballot requests must be mailed to the County Clerk of the county where you are registered.

Absentee ballot requests must be received in Indiana no later than midnight on Thursday, October 22.

Remember to pick up two stamps and one envelope so that you can mail your absentee ballot request (stamp and envelope required) and then complete and mail your absentee ballot when it is mailed to you (secure, state approved envelope provided, stamp required).

Absentee ballots must be received by noon on Monday, November 2.

Where to Vote in Person if you are registered locally:

Vanderburgh County: Go to http://www.evansvillegov.org/county/department, Voter Registration

Warrick County: https://warrickcounty.gov/voter-registration/

Upcoming Events

* "Race and..." - Conversations About Race in America

Social impacts from COVID-19, the deaths of Ahmaud Arbury, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, calls for reforms to policing and criminal justice, voter access for state primaries and the lead up to the presidential election, social movements, and more. These topics have a race dimension that will be a significant concern for many of our students and employees during the coming year.

Please join us for another live episode of "Race and...Conversations About Race in America." The discussion will take place on Zoom at 1PM on Wednesday, September 2, with Rob Shelby, PhD. In this webinar, Rob will welcome special guests Kyle Jones and Becca Patton of Student Christian Fellowship.

Info You Should Know

* Meal Plan Changes

* Integrated Minor in Truth, Meaning, and Value

The Department of Philosophy and Religion is pleased to announce a new minor program that explores foundational questions. The 18-hour minor engages students in three important areas of humanistic inquiry that are in crisis in this rapidly developing and globalizing technocratic era: what it means for something to be true, what meaning is and how one finds it, and what does and should have value. It meets these objectives through a combination of three-credit and one-credit course options in the areas of philosophy, religion, and ethics.

The minor has been designed to accommodate a broad range of UE students by maximizing the number of choices a student can make in tailoring the minor to their interests and major(s) and because six of the eighteen required hours may be met with one-credit text seminars thereby allowing students to make progress toward the minor even in heavy-credit semesters. This makes the TMV minor a viable option for many students in UE’s professional programs while also complementing many majors within the College of Arts and Sciences.

For more information on this program, please visit https://www.evansville.edu/majors/truth-meaning-and-value/. If you are interested in picking up this minor, please contact the program’s coordinator, Dr. Beavers, at tb2@evansville.edu.
