* Navigating Generational Differences in the Workplace Workshop

Register and join us for the Navigating Generational Differences in the Workplace workshop on June 5 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Stone Family Center for Health Sciences, Downtown Evansville.

Many employers are trying to navigate three to four different generations working in their organizations. This workshop will introduce characteristics and difference of Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials. Participants will learn about the unique perspectives of each generation that lead to conflict. A process will be introduced for multi-generational teams to work through these conflicts to get better results. This workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Tad Dickel.

* On Campus Health Screenings 2019-2020

Sign up for your 2019-2020 Health Screening!! Sign-up's for this event are posted on AceLink. Screenings will be held in Eykamp Room 252 on June 10th-13th from 7:00-11:00 AM each day. An 8-12 hour fast is required to complete your screening. Black coffee and water are permitted during the fasting period. Please take maintenance medication as prescribed. Earn HRA credits and avoid higher medical insurance premiums.

* Cafe' Court Open Monday-Wednesday for Lunch

Café court will be open Monday-Wednesday (June 3-5) for lunch, 11:00-1:00. Employees can eat for $5 using Ridgway Dining Dollars on a UE ID. This is a special initiative that aligns with the hosting of TeenPower on campus. Employees can add Ridgway Dollars to their ID Card at the Dining Services Office on the first floor of Ridgway.

* Weinbach Avenue Road Diet - Closure Schedule

Beginning June 3, the Weinbach Avenue will have limited accessibility due to road diet construction. Please be aware of these changes and adjust your travel as necessary.

Access to UE, homes, and businesses will be maintained at all times. 

June 3 - July 3
-Lincoln intersection hard closure
-Walnut to Lincoln closed to thru traffic. One lane traffic with flagger during day, two lanes without
flagger at night. Access UE from Walnut.
-Lincoln to Bellemeade closed to thru traffic. One lane traffic with flagger during day, two lanes without
flagger at night. Access businesses from Bellemeade.

* Doctor of Physical Therapy Graduate and Faculty Awards

A hooding and pinning ceremony and reception to honor 41 physical therapy doctoral candidates was held on Friday, May 10 in Shanklin Theatre with over 300 family and friends in attendance. The Physical Therapy faculty presented awards for outstanding achievements to the following graduates:

  • The Outstanding Physical Therapist Award was presented to Mary Beth Garner in recognition of excellence in academic and clinical performance as well as overall professionalism.
  • The Outstanding Clinical Performance was presented to Stephanie Cerino.
  • Suzanne Leach and Michaela Kent received the Mary Kessler Leadership Award.

The class of 2019 presented Dr. Kyle Matsel with the Mary Bennett Award of Excellence- Outstanding Physical Therapy Professor of the year. Dr. Ling Liang was also recognized by the class at the Ace Care PT Volunteer of the Year.

Each year the faculty selects a member of the community for dedicated service to our students and support of improving health care. This year’s Friend of PT Award was given to Dr. Andy Lampkins, PhD, PharmD, associate professor of the UE Physician Assistant Program.

* Green Elected Fellowship of Higher Education Academy

David Green (Senior Lecturer in British Studies) has been elected a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. This is a UK organisation which recognises good practice, impact and leadership in teaching and learning in Higher Education.
