* Fall Conference 2018

The University of Evansville Fall Conference is today - Tuesday, August 14 - in Eykamp Hall, Room 251, Ridgway University Center at 1:30 p.m. All faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to the dessert reception to kick off the conference at 12:30 p.m. in the Class of ’59 Gallery and Lounge.

Additionally, the Office of Academic Affairs is hosting Faculty Fall Concurrent Sessions on Wednesday, August 15 from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. in the Schroeder School of Business Building, and guided tours of the Stone Family Center for Health Sciences from 3:30-4:30 p.m. All faculty, staff, and administrators are welcome to attend the Concurrent Sessions and to go on the tours.

* Stone Family Center for Health Sciences dedication ceremony

The Stone Family Center for Health Sciences dedication ceremony will be held at the Old National Events Plaza Ballroom on Thursday, August 9, at 10:00 a.m. (CDT). Ribbon cutting and tours immediately following, (approx. 11:30 a.m.) at the Stone Family Center for Health Sciences at Walnut Street and 5th Street.

The event is open to the public and all UE employees are invited to attend. Please join our president, Christopher M. Pietruszkiewicz, and our physical therapy and physician assistant departments in celebrating the opening of this incredible facility that will benefit our University for years to come.

* Last summer golf outing!

The employees at the University of Evansville are again invited to play golf this Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Fendrich GC. This will be our last official outing for this summer. Please do let Debbie Kassenbrock in the Center for Academic Advising know if you will be playing, and she will reserve a tee time. Contact Debbie at dk26@evansville.edu or 488-2605.

There will be golf giveaways for anyone playing this Thursday.

* Neu Chapel announces new service times

Beginning Sunday, August 19, the Neu Chapel community will begin holding two worship opportunities for our campus community. Our Sunday morning, #GetWokeUE service, will be at 9:00 a.m. and is ideal for the early riser who can have the rest of the day for brunch, relaxation, and studying. Our Sunday night, #StillWokeUE service, will be at 9:00 p.m. and is ideal for those who like to sleep in, spend the day for studying and relaxation, and have some prayer and meditation before the week begins. * Welcome Amy Haudek, student services specialist

The Center for Adult Education would like to welcome Amy Haudek as student services specialist. Amy comes from the Chicago area and brings a wealth of experience in student affairs, marketing and community outreach. She will be working with our adult degree programs and assisting the students from admission to graduation. We are excited to have her on our team!

* Smith is UE's new WFF director of custodial services

Kevin Smith is the new WFF director of custodial services at the University of Evansville. He is looking forward to new challenges and to continuing to serve the University. The office phone number for WFF facility services (housekeeping) has not changed. It is still 812-488-2045.

Smith has worked for WFF facility services at UE for the past three years. He and his wife Mary have two children and four grandchildren.

* Parking permits go on sale on August 2

Parking permits will be available for sale in the safety and security office beginning Thursday, August 2 between the hours of 8:00 a.m.-4:00 pm., Monday through Friday. Permits may be purchased by cash or check. Payroll deduction forms will be available for employees.

* Roscoe serves as facilitator for PAEA program directors workshop

Michael Roscoe, UE’s PA department chair/program director and IAPA president-elect, recently served as a facilitator/faculty for PAEA’s Program Directors 101 Workshop. Thirty-four new program directors and associate PDs, most with fewer than two years’ experience, convened outside of Washington, DC. This popular annual workshop, facilitated by four experienced PDs and department chairs, attracted members from 32 PA programs in 18 states.

* Atefeh Yazdanparast speaks at the 2018 Digital Summit

Atefeh Yazdanparast, associate professor of marketing, was a speaker at the 2018 Digital Summit Virtual Conference organized by Stukent. Focusing on digital marketing and marketing analytics, academic and industry speakers offered insights on digital and social media marketing and provided course structure and optimization tips. The industry track included speakers from Godaddy, Semrush, Buffer, Chamber Media, and BlitzMetrics. The academic track included speakers from the University of Evansville, Brigham Young University, Western Michigan University, and California Polytechnic State University.

* Joan Fedor-Bassemier and family

Heartfelt condolences to Joan Fedor-Bassemier on the passing of her husband Edgar E. Bassemier on Saturday evening, August 4. Visitation will be at Ziemer's Funeral Home, 626 North First Avenue on Wednesday, August 8 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 9 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Ziemer's Funeral Home at 10:00 on Thursday morning.
