* Fire Alarm Testing

Vanguard has begun Fire Alarm Sensitivity testing on campus. As each building is tested the alarm will intermittently go off. (Since this is just a test of the alarm, there is no need to leave the building when the alarm sounds.) Physical Plant and Security will know on a daily basis which buildings Vanguard is working in. The testing will be done between 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Testing should be completed by Tuesday, August 11. Any concerns or schedule conflicts please contact the Physical Plant at 488-2775.

Info You Should Know

* Research Participants Needed

Tight hamstrings? Sick of stretching? Many people struggle with muscle tightness. Despite its prevalence, it continues to pose unique challenges to rehab and fitness professionals. It negatively affects performance and can lead to injuries.

We are currently investigating new, innovative treatment techniques to resolve hamstring tightness. If you struggle to touch your toes and can give us 15-20 minutes of your time, we may be able to help you improve your mobility in a way stretching never could.

If you’re interested please email Dr. Bethany Huebner at bh212@evansville.edu for more information.

* Ellucian Colleague and WebAdvisor Down Time - Fiscal Year-End Procedures

As part of fiscal year-end procedures, Ellucian Colleague (what many still call “Datatel”) and WebAdvisor will be unavailable on Tuesday August 4th from 4:30 PM Central until 7:00 PM Central.  Accounting and audit staff will need to have a “quiet system” in order to complete their procedures.  This down time will affect anyone who uses the WebUI interface or the WebAdvisor interface.  Please inform all student workers, volunteer workers, or other non-UE employees of this down time as well.

Please plan to log out of any active sessions on that date prior to 4:30 PM.  As a reminder, WebUI sessions do not end if you simply close your browser – you must use the “Logout” button located in the upper-right-hand of the interface.

Failure to use the “Logout” button could cause a session to remain active for up to 45 minutes after closing the browser, locking up one of our limited licenses and delaying this procedure.

Hopefully, the procedure will take less time than the allotted 2.5 hours.  In any event, we will inform all users of the availability of the systems once we’ve returned to our normal operations.

* We are now a Tobacco-Free campus!

You will be seeing some new signs on campus. In support of the health and wellbeing of the campus community, the University is now Tobacco-Free. The use of all tobacco products and electronic smoking devices (e-cigarettes) are now prohibited at school sanctioned and/or sponsored activities or functions on campus.

The use of these products and devices is also prohibited in all University buildings, residential housing, approved University housing, rental properties, grounds, athletic facilities, parking lots, University-owned or leased vehicles, and privately owned vehicles on University grounds.
