* Peggy Adams Currently in the Hospital

The UE community sends get well wishes to Peggy Adams, who is currently at Deaconess Gateway hospital. Peggy will be having major surgery in a couple of weeks.

* Heidi Strobel Participates in Seminar

Heidi Strobel, associate professor of art history, recently returned from Atlanta, Ga., where she participated in a weeklong Council of Independent Colleges Kress Seminar on Living with Art in Renaissance and Baroque Europe.  While there, she worked with the Kress art collections at the High Museum in Atlanta and the University of Georgia (Athens) and attended the opening of Radcliffe Bailey's exhibition at the High Museum.

 

Athletics

* Wood Named to NCAA All American Scholar Team

 Recent graduate Maggie Wood of the University of Evansville women's golf team has been selected to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for Division I. The criteria for selection are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, as the minimum cumulative grade-point average is 3.50. A total of 566 women's collegiate golfers across three Divisions were recognized with this honor.

Wood led the Aces' golf team in stroke average for both her junior and senior years, and finished with the second lowest career average in University of Evansville history at 81.41.  As a senior, Wood averaged 80.75 in 12 rounds in the fall and 80.82 in 11 spring rounds for the best average on the squad at 80.78. She was also a two-time selection to the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete Team. Wood graduated in May with a 3.79 GPA in Writing
