Info You Should Know

* Time Card Approval Deadline Extended

* Health Tip: Add Some Edge to Your Veg

It can be easy to get stuck in a veggie slump. Try at least one new vegetable this week to diversify your nutrients and stimulate your pallet. Add it to a tried-and-true recipe like a stir-fry or pasta dish so you can savor new flavors without feeling overwhelmed. Visit the nurse any Thursday, 9–11 a.m., in Olmsted Hall lobby, too, for new recipes and other helpful health information.

* Snack Vending Announcement

Beginning the week of July 1, there will be a price increase of 10 cents on vending snacks such as cookies, large chips, crackers (Cheese Nips, etc.), gum, mints, candy and pastry. The price of other vending snacks such as small chips and sandwich crackers will remain unchanged. This price increase is the result of continued higher costs in raw food materials (potatoes, corn, vegetable oil, chocolate, etc.), labor and fuel related to snack production. UE’s contracted snack vendor, VendAir Vending, has absorbed across the board cost increases for over two years through productivity and cost saving initiatives avoiding prior price increases. However, snack production costs have escalated to the point that VendAir is no longer able to absorb the added costs without adjustments to the consumer. If you have questions or comments, please contact Kim Winsett in Administrative Services at extension 2940 or email at kw83@evansville.edu

* UE Language Lab Looking for Research Participants

The University of Evansville Language Lab is looking for children to participate in Language Development Research. Needed are: typically-developing children ages 1 to 3 (session lasting 45 minutes), children with Autism between the ages of 3 and 12 (session lasts about 2 hours), and children with Down Syndrome ages 3 to 8 (session lasts about 2 hours). Appointments can be made for almost any time or day and last approximately an hour and a half.  If you or anybody you know is interested, they can contact the Lab at 812-488-1060 or language@evansville.edu.
