Chandra finished the season playing in 49 games while starting 48 of them, hitting .291 and scoring 26 runs on 41 hits. * Women's Tennis Signs Kennedy Craig

Purple Aces head women’s tennis coach Nick Mueller has announced the signing of Kennedy Craig to a National Letter of Intent to begin play at the University of Evansville next season.

Entering the university as a freshman, Craig will begin her career with the Aces in the fall of 2014.

“Kennedy will be a great addition to our team next fall. She is a very talented player who brings a wide skill set to the table,” Mueller said. “She has competed against some of the top kids in the country, and has had success. She will contribute right away in singles and doubles on our team. I am really looking forward to Kennedy’s arrival in August.”

A native of Acworth, Ga., Craig is completing her senior season at Allatoona High School. She is ranked as one of the top 230 players in the country and, according to Tennisrecruiting.net, she is one of the top 20 players in the state of Georgia.

Craig joins what will be an experienced Aces squad next season. Evansville returns five out of six players next season, including 2-time MVC All-Select Team member and senior Marketa Trousilova. Trousilova teamed with junior Marina Moreno to go 14-1 in No. 2 doubles this spring and take an 8-match win streak into next season.
