Noon Prayer @ Neu: Meditation with Music will be held on Thursday, October 17, beginning at 12:10 p.m. in Neu Chapel. The 40-minute service of music, silence, and the spoken word provides a time of contemplation, reflection, and inspiration for University of Evansville students, faculty, staff, and the larger Evansville community.
Thomas Drury, Trinity United Methodist Church director of music/organist, will provide musical portions of the service including his own jazz piano arrangements and organ music by Arvo Pärt, an Estonian composer of classical and sacred music.
Accompanist, jazz pianist and composer, Drury is an instructor of music at the University of Southern Indiana. He holds music degrees from the University of Iowa and the University of Michigan. In addition to his other musical pursuits, Drury is an avid fiddler of traditional Irish music.
Provided by the Neu Chapel Department of Religious Life with support of the Neu Chapel Society, NOON PRAYER will be framed with the ringing of a Peace Bell. Refreshments will be available after the service. All are welcome.
