Summer College is a program organized by the Evansville Association for the Blind (EAB)and held on UE's campus during the summer II session. The program is open for students with any disability giving them a chance to explore college as a possible option for their future. EAB is currently looking for volunteers to be readers for the program. The number of hours you volunteer is flexible. Reading will mainly involve reading tests and recording answers, but could also involve reading class handouts and text books to students. Our condolences to Cherie Leonhardt, coordinator of Veterans Affairs and assistant director of the Honors Program, on the death of her brother Charles Steven Richardson of Indianapolis, Indiana. Steven passed away on June 4. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. at West Morris Street Free Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

University of Evansville right-hander Kyle Lloyd was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 29th round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Saturday afternoon.

He was taken with the 868th pick in the 29th round of the draft, which is in the third day and consists of 40 rounds.

The Carmel, Ind. product finished his senior campaign at UE with a 7-4 record while posting a 2.59 ERA over the course of 94 innings of work.  His 99 strikeouts as a senior was the fourth most by an Aces pitcher all-time while his ERA was also one of the top ten seasons in program history.

Lloyd’s senior season was also one of the best in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2013.  His strikeout total was second in the league behind only Nick Petree of Missouri State, who was taken in the 9th round by the St. Louis Cardinals.  He also ranked 7th in the conference in opposing batting average (.218) while his ERA was 7th overall.
