Aces Go for Seventh Win Today

The University of Evansville men's soccer team goes after its seventh win of the season today when the Purple Aces host the Bisons of Lipscomb University at 7 p.m. at Black Beauty Field.

Under new Head Coach Mike Jacobs, Evansville has already surpassed last year's victory total of two, and has equaled its 2004 total of six wins.  Much of the improvement is due to a resurgent offense, which is ranked 11th nationally in scoring this week with 2.44 goals per match.  Junior forward Cory Elenio is ranked 16th individually with seven goals in nine matches.

Junior midfielder Dustin Awe is the current Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring once and assisting on two goals in Sunday's 4-1 victory at Bowling Green, and sophomore goalkeeper Alec Dufty is the MVC Defensive Player of the Week.  He allowed just one goal in 135 minutes last week.
