We are pleased to announce the results of the Changemaker Challenge: Evansville Strong - Local to Global held October 29 in Eykamp Hall, in Ridgway University Center.

Five UE student teams presented their ideas for social innovation before a panel of university and community leaders, including Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, and a general audience. Congratulations to ALL our Changemakers - we are proud of each and every one of you!

1st place ($2,000 seed money): Feel Fit

The team aims to promote a healthier lifestyle for the Evansville community in order to combat one of the city's biggest issues: obesity. Team members are Willian Mallmann, Monica Morales, and Gabriela Tom.

2nd place ($1,000 seed money): E^3 – Evansville Evolving Energy

This team aims to create an awareness campaign for the environment. Team members are Andrea Onyett, Alyssa Murphy, Seong-Woo Song, Tyler Thompson, Spencer Willem, and Tyler Wintermute.

3rd place ($500 seed money): #eNOugh

The mission of this project is to prevent the mental, physical and emotional abuse of students grades in 6-12 in Vanderburgh County by empowering them through education and confidence building. Team members are Raquel Cundiff, Jessie Earle, Megan Fetterman, Mackenzie Harris, Austin Key, Jamie Settlemyer, and Mary Whelan.

Thanks to all our Changemakers, the Social Innovation Club, our judges (Richard Hawley, Lynn Miller-Pease, Alfonso Vidal, Linda White, LaNeeca Williams, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, and Scott Wylie), and our generous donors including Robert John and Associates, Water Street Partners, and UE's Office of Diversity Initiatives.
