* UE's Oldest Alum to Be Featured on NBC Today Show

It’s not very often that an institution gets to celebrate the 105th birthday of an alum. We wanted to let the UE family know that we submitted Altha Warren Plane’s birthday to the NBC Today Show to consider for Willard Scott’s section acknowledging 100+ year old birthdays. We have received confirmation this afternoon that barring any major breaking news, natural disaster, or the like, that she will be featured in Willard’s segment this coming Monday, August 15. (Her birthday is the next day).  The segment should air between 8 and 10 a.m. in both the eastern time zone and the Evansville television market (it’s just an anomaly of the way the show airs here). Wherever you live, if you want to make certain that you see it, please set your DVRs for the Today Show for the entire 7-10 a.m. time period on Monday. If something happens and the segment is cancelled, they will call University Relations with an updated date and we will pass it on.  Cheers to Ace Altha!!
