* Sue Edwards Named January IMPACT Employee of Month

Sue EdwardsSue Edwards, associate director of admission operations, has been named the January 2015 IMPACT Employee of the Month. Now in her 25th year at UE, Sue is known as a great mentor and valuable resource to those in her department and across campus. Sue demonstrates her positive attitude and commitment to the recruitment process on a daily basis.  Congratulations, Sue!

 

 

Upcoming Events

* The Oties Epps Show Returns Today at Noon

The Oties Epps Show returns on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at noon on WUEV 91.5 FM.

The show, which has been on holiday break, will feature Purple Aces play by play announcer Mike Radomski and assistant coach Matt Ruffing.

Mike and Matt will highlight UE’s 1-1 opening weekend in Missouri Valley Conference play, preview the upcoming two games for the Aces this weekend and get to learn more about the fourth year assistant coach.

Fans can become a part of the show by visiting the set at the University of Evansville bookstore. There is also a 15% discount available to fans that purchase Aces items during the course of the radio show.

The program airs live on WUEV 91.5 FM and online at http://www.evansville.edu/wuev/ .

The next game for Evansville will be on Thursday, Jan. 8 with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Loyola. The Aces also host Bradley on Monday, Jan. 12 at 7:00 p.m. as well. Both games will be held at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.

Tickets can be purchased over the phone at 812-488-ACES (2237), in person at either the Carson Center or Ford Center ticket office, or online via Ticketmaster.com.

* Baby Announcement

Cara Wood, assistant director for Student Engagement, and husband Scott welcomed a baby boy, Cooper Scott Wood on December 28. Cooper weighed 6lbs. 15 oz. and was 19 inches long at birth. Mom and baby are doing well. 

 

Athletics

* Faculty/Staff Basketball Tickets

Faculty and staff can now pick up tickets for the Loyola Men's and Women's games this Wednesday (Jan. 7) and Thursday (Jan. 8), respectively. Come see us at the Carson Center to pick up your tickets. 

 
* Egidijus Mockevicius Named MVC Player of the Week

For the first time in his career, Egidijus Mockevicius was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in a pair of victories for the Purple Aces over the last week.

Mockevicius put together two of the top games of his career to lead the University of Evansville to a pair of victories over Ohio University and Alabama State. He began the week with 16 points and 10 rebounds versus the Bobcats. In 32 minutes, Mockevicius went to the free throw line 9 times, connecting on eight of those attempts. He also blocked three shots.

In Sunday’s win over preseason SWAC favorite Alabama State, he had the best game of his career. A 9/13 performance from the field and a 7-8 effort from the charity stripe gave him a career-high 25 points. He led everyone with 12 rebounds and 2 more blocked shots. For the week, he averaged 20.05 points while shooting 59.1% (13/22) from the floor. He was the top free throw shooter on the game, making 15 out of 17 attempts while blocking a total of five shots.

Evansville will have six days until its next home contest as the Aces host Coppin State on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 1:05 p.m. For tickets, call 812-488-ACES or purchase at the Carson Center Ticket Office or at the Ford Center.
