* UE to Hold Rape Aggression Defense Course

The Student Fitness Center will offer a Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) course from 5-7 p.m. on July 25-29. Cost is $60, and the course is open to the public. Jeff Chestnut, director of UE’s Student Fitness Center and a certified R.A.D. instructor, will lead the course.

“While no one likes to imagine being a victim of a violent crime, the recent disappearance of Indiana University student Lauren Spierer has reminded us that worst-case scenarios can and do occur,” Chestnut said. “This course will begin by teaching awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance. When women finish the course, they’ll know how to confidently defend themselves in case of an attack.”
