Emeritus Professor Helen Smith passed away on October 16, 2010.  Dr. Smith was the Dean of the School of Nursing until her retirement in 1984.  A memorial service is scheduled to celebrate Dr. Smith’s life on Saturday, June 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 609 SE Second Street in Evansville, with Pastor Kevin Flemming officiating.  President Emeritus Wallace B. This networking activity is the practicum summer project for the OL Cohort, providing students with the opportunity to put their education to work in support of the Evansville community.

Kate Upton, a 2011 professional chemistry graduate, has been selected to receive a Harriett G. Jenkins NASA pre-doctoral fellowship.  The Jenkins Pre-doctoral Fellowship Project seeks to increase the number of graduate degrees awarded to underrepresented persons in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.  Kate will begin her graduate studies in chemistry this fall at the California Institute of Technology.
