As a 1967 Evansville College graduate, she was a life member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a former resident of Newburgh. * UE Recognized as one of 50 Great Affordable Colleges in the Midwest by Great Value Colleges

The University of Evansville is listed in the Great Value Colleges' write-up about 50 Great Affordable Colleges in the Midwest. UE was ranked 3rd in the Private Schools category.

Great Value Colleges uses eight quality indicators to measure a student’s potential experience at an institution: graduation rate, freshmen retention rate, student-to-faculty ratio, percentage of classes taught by graduate assistants, average entrance ACT score, number of campus organizations, and number of academic programs. All indicators are weighted equally. Also considered is a school’s ranking by Forbes - which focuses on what a student gets out of his or her college experience - and a school’s affordability. The result is a list of postsecondary institutions that are regionally accredited, relatively affordable, and high-scoring on all eight measures of quality.

Athletics

* Brzoja Completes FIBA U20 Championship

All student-athletes have their summer routines. Many enjoy taking time to be with family, others take classes and some take on a part time job. One thing they all have in common is their offseason work for their particular sports.

That is definitely the case for Purple Aces redshirt sophomore Mislav Brzoja, who is coming off of a summer where he played for his native Croatia in the FIBA U20 European Championship.

His efforts helped Croatia take fourth place in a tournament that features several great professional players as well as European natives who will spend their collegiate careers in the United States. Brzoja enjoyed the experience as it gave him true in-game work in order to prepare him for the upcoming season.

“I think this experience can help me a lot by getting a feeling for the game and see how to react in some game decisions,” he said. “I am still looking for my offensive game because I did not play for two years, but I know it is going to come sooner or later.”
