* Farewell Reception for Brian Ernsting Is Today

A farewell reception honoring Brian Ernsting, professor of biology and assistant vice president for academic affairs, will be held Tuesday, July 22, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in Class of '59 Gallery and Lounge in Ridgway University Center. Brian has been a faculty member in the biology department at UE for the past 17 years, where he established himself as the consummate teacher-scholar. In the latter part of his career at the University, he began to take on a number of important administrative roles, including but not limited to chairing UE’s regional reaccreditation committee leading an outcomes assessment program on campus, and working to implement a revised general education core. Brian is leaving UE to become vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Wartburg College in Iowa. Please join the UE family to wish Brian continued success in his new role at Wartburg College.

* Ungar to lecture at Tanglewood

On July 18, Associate Professor of Music Garnet Ungar will present a lecture on unusual practice techniques at the Boston University Piano Institute at Tanglewood. He will also give a piano masterclass for their students.
