* Douglas Reed to Teach at Indiana University

Douglas Reed, University Organist/Professor Emeritus of Music, has been invited to serve as a Sabbatical Guest Teacher in the Organ Department of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in March, 2015. Dr. Reed will teach undergraduate and graduate students during his residency, which will focus on the organ music of William Albright, William Bolcom, and other traditional repertoire. After 35 years of teaching organ, harpsichord, music theory, and sacred music courses at UE, Dr. Reed continues to play an active role in the Department of Religious Life. His current research includes a recording project at the University of Michigan and an article and concert celebrating the life of eminent American composer, William Albright in October, 2014. Reed also leads efforts to repurpose the historic Tinker Memorial Organ, built in 1919 for a Methodist Centenary celebration in Columbus, Ohio, and brought to Evansville through the efforts of UE’s first president, Alfred Hughes.
