* Wellness Nurse on Campus Today!

The employee wellness nurse will be in Graves Hall lobby today -  Monday, Aug. 12 - from 1-3 p.m. If you frequently feel too tired to exercise, you are likely emotionally tired. Find the motivation to follow your fitness plans. Your body will appreciate the short-term energy boost and stamina that come with physical activity.

* 2014 Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program Applications Available for UE Students

The admission application for the DPT entering class of 2014 is available for UE students at http://www.evansville.edu/majors/physicaltherapy/dpt_requirements.cfm under Application Materials, University of Evansville Students (Not Direct Entry). The application deadline is September 15, 2013. For questions, please contact Sherri Chambliss, Operations Administrator at sc9@evansville.edu.

* Kathy Murphy Interviewed on Use of Music Therapy in Substance Abuse Treatment

Assistant Professor of Music Therapy Kathy Murphy was recently interviewed on the use of music therapy in substance abuse treatment by Joshua Gordon, editor for AllTreatment, a comprehensive online resource for addiction recovery. * Erzsébet Gaál Rinne

Dr. Erzsébet Gaál Rinne, Consortium Faculty, was invited to perform as a guest artist at the Museo López Portillo located at the historic center of Guadalajara, Mexico on Tuesday, July 30. Dr. Gaál Rinne was also invited to present workshops and to teach as a guest lecturer at the Summer Festival of the Institute Estudio Suzuku Guadalajara, July 29 through August 10.

 
* Emmy Ogawa and Noah Gordon present research at international conference

UE biology major Emmy Ogawa recently presented her work on the function of stress calls in geckos at the 50th annual meeting of the Animal Behavior Society in Boulder, CO. Her poster was co-authored with Dr. Noah Gordon (Biology) and titled "Variation in acoustic properties of the stress calls of the sand gecko Stenodactylus sthenodactylus." This fall Emmy plans to submit this work for publication. Dr. Gordon also presented work co-authored with UE biology students Mackenzie Powell and Allison Young titled "Variations in testosterone levels and dispersal distance of male gray treefrogs (Hyla versicolor)."

* Mallory Schultz

Condolences to admission counselor Mallory Schultz on the death of her grandfather, Thomas Metcalfe '49, on Wednesday, August 7 in South Bend, Indiana. He was 89.

Metcalfe was a graduate of the University of Evansville, where he was a backup quarterback. He coached football in South Bend for 59 years, retiring at the age of 82.

He was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 2005, and was the first coach honored by the Indiana Football Coaches Association with a gold watch in recognition of his 50 years of service to young men of South Bend. He was honored with the Sam Wegner Award in 1984 by the South Bend Community School Corporation.
