If you would like a free copy of the award-winning 2012 LinC yearbook, stop by Student Publications, second floor Ridgway Center, to pick up a copy by Friday.  Copies are located right outside the door.  Help yourself!

 

Upcoming Events

* Summer Session I Buyback

The UE Bookstore will have a two day end of Summer Session I buyback on Thursday & Friday, June 13-14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. We will freely quote any book whether used on this campus or not. Bring in any book that you might not want anymore. Please bring your ID with you. If questions please contact the Bookstore at x2678.

 
* Summer College Looking for Volunteers

Summer College is a program organized by the Evansville Association for the Blind (EAB)and held on UE's campus during the summer II session. The program is open for students with any disability giving them a chance to explore college as a possible option for their future. EAB is currently looking for volunteers to be readers for the program. The number of hours you volunteer is flexible. Reading will mainly involve reading tests and recording answers, but could also involve reading class handouts and text books to students. * Summer I Rental Returns due

This is a reminder that books rented for Summer Session I are due back in the UE Bookstore at the end of the session, June 14 unless other arrangements are made. After the duedate you may be assessed a late fee. If you have any questions please contact the UE Bookstore.

 
* Wellness Screening Signup/Registration Now Available

Schedule your appointment for the health screenings begining June 10. Log into AceLink anytime between Monday, June 10 until Friday, June 21 at 4:30 p.m. Please schedule an appointment for you insured spouse, too. If you need to change/cancel an appointment, do this in AceLink, too, but please cancel any existing appointment. As a reminder, HRA credit is earned by attending a health screening. HRA insured attend at no cost. Non-HRA employees/spouses may also attend but will be charged $34 at the time of the screening. Another screening will be held in September if you are unable to attend this one. You may contact the employee wellness nurse for any questions by emailing Carolyn.hendrickson@meritain.com

 

Congratulations

* Doug Reed Presents Concert of American Organ Music in Germany

Douglas Reed, University Organist/Professor Emeritus of Music, performed a concert of American organ music entitled Amazing Grace at the Nikolaikirche in Siegen, Germany on May 24.   The concert was sponsored by the Studio für Neue Musik at the University of Siegen in cooperation with the Siegen Kantorei and the German-American Society of Siegen-Wittgenstein. Dr. Reed performed music by William Albright, William Bolcom, Sydney Hodkinson, and Daniel Pinkham on the 55 stop 4-manual and pedal Kleuker pipe organ built in 1955.

 
* UE Graduate Sara Stephens Has Poems Accepted by Relief Journal

Creative writing graduate Sara Stephens recently had five poems accepted to Relief Journal. Sara attended the 2013 Harlaxton Summer Writing Program in England with UE professors Rob Griffith, Bill Baer, and Margaret McMullan. She spent five weeks there polishing her thesis as she completes her MFA degree in poetry at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, where she is also a teaching fellow. Sara’s poetry has also appeared in Deep South magazine.
